Interview with ViX Swimwear Designer Paula Hermanny

Darlings, CC is so excited to have the opportunity to interview Paula Hermanny, the very talented designer of ViX swimwear and apparel! CC hopes you enjoy the interview and these gorgeous pieces from the newest ViX collection!
  1. CC: I understand that Africa was your inspiration for the 2013 collection.  Could you explain a bit more about this theme and how it is realized in your swimwear?

PH: Africa is a continent with such a rich history and culture.  The artisanship is incredible and reflected in Cruise 2013 with new details such hand-finished embroidery and beading, nautical rope accents and gold pyramid studs.  The bold tribal prints and colors this season are also African inspired.
CC: What is your favorite piece from the collection and why?

PH: The Angola tribal print has warm tones of red, mustard and taupe offset with black—I love this color palette!  We have this print in bikinis as well as ready-to-wear pieces.  My favorite is our Angola June Skirt; it’s a beautiful flowing silhouette with an unexpected front slit.  [Here's the lovely Paula, above, wearing the June Skirt!]

  1. CC: Who is your customer for this collection?  Please tell Couture Carrie readers where and how you see some of these gorgeous suits being worn.

PH: Travel is a passion of mine and I think the ViX woman is a seasoned traveler, always ready for her next fabulous adventure.  I see her taking pieces from this collection to a destination resort but she can also wear, for example, our day dresses while out and about in her hometown.
Thank you, Paula, and keep up the gorgeous work!
Darlings, be sure to like ViX on Facebook and follow ViX on Twitter so you can keep up with all the beautiful beachwear!

What is your favorite piece from the collection?
